SmartBarrel | Worker Safety Update

We know you must have received a lot of these notices, but we wanted you to be aware of what we at SmartBarrel is doing to keep both our customers and their employees safe. We take your health and operation seriously.

The U.S. president has declared COVID-19 a national emergency and is a major cause for concern for both health and economic reasons. Many industries cannot afford to halt operations – especially where projects are well underway – so it is wise to take precautionary measures to protect our workers. Here is what SmartBarrel has implemented in response to the Coronavirus outbreak to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace and construction jobsites. We have spent many hours building to release a new firmware version (v.2.0.14). The new version transforms the SmartBarrel device into a contactless system; making worker check-ins a more hygienic process.

Our contactless RFID check-in system makes it easy for workers to clock in/out in a touch-less manner. Combined with our facial verification process, workers can simply tap and go; no contact necessary. It is our way of providing a hygienic solution to avoid cross-contamination among shared check-in device. Helping to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and the safety of your workforce is our priority.

Internally, our engineering, customer support teams and our staff can work remotely. Our installation team is taking extra safety precautions, such as wearing gloves and using hand sanitizer at all times to make sure they stay clean while roaming jobsites.

SmartBarrel is monitoring the situation and following all local and federal guidelines as they become available. We have implemented procedures to ensure the best outcome for our customers and employees. We urge you to follow the OSHA and (World Health Organization) WHO, Federal, and local governments for the latest updates and directions to protect yourself and your workers.

We are in this together, let’s stay safe and productive.

Yours truly,
