Founded in 2009, JGR Construction is a structural contractor company specializing in pre-construction services, architectural exposed concrete, masonry, and value engineering. JGR builds the foundations of commercial and residential projects with efficiency, providing confidence and security to their clients about each job executed.

JGR’s finance and administration manager, Vivian Jimenez, realized that their team needed improvements in terms of time tracking. The system that was being used to keep records of their workers’ hours was an application that workers were supposed to use to clock in when they were in the job site area. This app brought different challenges as many workers couldn’t use it because they did not have a smartphone; other workers often forgot to bring their phones or simply did not have an internet connection. Having no reliable method to track necessary data in construction sites gave Vivian and the supervisors the frustrating and time-consuming task of manually collecting and verifying all information.

One of the main things that Jimenez likes about SmartBarrel is that it combines the simplicity of a time clock box with the technology of an online portal and administration tools. This system allows her and her team to manage tasks remotely, approve shifts, track employees’ movements between projects, among other functions. “SmartBarrel gave us a solution that is very easy for our crew to use, and we can manage it from the office; that’s the number one advantage I see,” she affirmed.
JGR has around 70 workers who use SmartBarrel every day across 7 different projects, and Vivian plans to keep implementing it. “We have been part of the growing process of SmartBarrel, its team has worked on different upgrades with our input, and it is a company that is moving in the right direction. My experience has been positive, and I’m looking forward to continuing to use their products in the future.”
Vivian also gave us her opinion about SmartBarrel’s support and customer service team; “It has been absolutely excellent, and our account manager, Nick Weingartner, has been very helpful. He has always been on top of any issue we have had, fixing the problems right away. We have received immediate responses, so it has been great. I would certainly share my feedback with anybody in the industry, who has similar challenges, I think that SmartBarrel is a very valuable solution.”
